又稱旅人木，原產於馬達加斯加，樹姿非常特別，葉片排列像一把扇，葉鞘基部及花苞片可儲存大量的液體，樹液甘甜可食，早期旅人在旅途中可取樹液供緊急飲用水，故稱之為旅人蕉。
Traveler's Tree, also known as Traveler's Palm is native to Madagascar. This tree has unique long-stemmed leaves arranged in the shape of a large fan. The sheaths and bracts hold large quantities of sweet, drinkable liquid, which was used as an emergency drinking supply by the travelers.
