More commonly known as Azaleas, the common species are mostly endemic to Taiwan. Highland species are also found in Hehuanshan. Azaleas are highly resilient to drought, as well as high humidity and tolerant to dirty air. The hairy leaves effectively balance moisture level and capture dust.
