蝶形花亞科 Faboideae / 菜豆族 Phaseoleae / 刺桐屬 Erythrina
原生於南台灣、綠島及蘭嶼，常作為觀賞植物及行道樹。冬天落葉、春天開花才長新葉，每當刺桐花開的時候，代表冬去春來的節氣，居住在蘭嶼島上的達悟族人，更以刺桐花開的季節，做為工作曆的指標植物。
Native to southern Taiwan , Green Island and Orchid Island, and often seen as ornamental plants and street trees. Tree leaves fall in winter and blossom in spring. So it means "Spring is coming." when the flower appears. The Tao tribe people living in Lanyu Island use this seasonal plant as a indicator for calendar of work.飯店種植區域： 山海橋、21棟
